About Ryan Ly
Ryan Ly earned a bachelor's degree in English and film studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003 before pursuing a career as an agent in the entertainment sector. In 2005, Ryan Ly joined Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as an agent trainee and, after three years, was promoted to the role of television literary and packaging agent. In this capacity, he helped build CAA's client list to include more writers nominated for Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards than any other agency.
A consistent top performer in the television literary department for five years, Ryan Ly became the agency's youngest-ever department head in 2013 and continued to serve in that role until 2017. Beyond managing a team of 18 scripted television agents in three different offices, he personally represented 50 high-profile clients who combined to secure the agency millions of dollars in annual commissions. He also procured the sale of award-winning television series such as Amazon's Good Girls' Revolt and AMC's Better Call Saul.
An authority in the field, Mr. Ly was named to The Hollywood Reporter 35 Under 35 list in 2016. He has also been quoted by media outlets such as USA Today, NPR, and Variety.
